I love having one of the best oatmeal cookie recipes that I know of because it is healthy as it is delicious! With a few simple ingredients, you can create healthy and wholesome treats for the whole family. You can adapt this recipe in many ways and use raisins instead of chocolate chips to make it even healthier. Here is a list of what you need:

1. 1/2 cup butter or margarine
2. 1 egg
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
4. 1/4 cup white sugar
5. 3/4 cup of flour
6. 1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
7. 1/4 tsp baking soda
8. 1/2 tsp salt
9. 1 tsp cinnamon
10. 1/2 cup chocolate chips
11. 1 tsp vanilla

Before you begin, start by preheating your oven to 325F so you can be ready to bake once your cookie dough is mixed.

First to get started, I like to measure out all my ingredients. I began with the dry mixture by combining the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and oatmeal and mixed it up in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until it’s fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla and continue to beat on high until it’s well blended. Gradually add in the dry mixture and continue beating until it’s all combined together.

On a large cookie sheet, drop heaping teaspoons 2” apart from each other and let it bake in the oven at 325F for 10 minutes. Allow a few minutes to cool when they come out – they will be soft!
