August is one of my favorite months for so many reasons. The first reason of many is that school is starting and our family will get back to our regular routine. Tall boots and pumpkin spice everything will be the norm for awhile and the hint of fall flavors will be in the air. Not to mention that our beloved football team will be back on the field again and I’ve got a delicious coca-cola® chicken wing marinade to share today! We love making our football Sundays fun with our family and cook one big meal for the day and graze on snacks leading up to the game.
Crackers and cookies are great items to snack on, but my husband and I like more sophisticated snacks like bruschetta topped with tomatoes, delicious queso dip or chicken wings. Game snacks like this always pair so well with a cold, refreshing coca-cola®.
Coca-Cola® Chicken Wing Marinade Recipe
I can’t think of a more ‘game day’ food than chicken wings! This marinade recipe is so easy to put together and creates chicken perfection every time. Simply mix up the ingredients and let it soak overnight in a freezer bag.
- 1 cup of coca-cola®
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp ground mustard
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 clove of garlic, crushed
Mix all the ingredients together for 2 lbs of chicken and bake at 400F for 1 hour.
This has always been one of my favorite marinades to use for chicken.. Passed down from my mother’s recipe book for marinating chicken wings with and it always made a perfectly caramelized and juicy chicken to the last bite.
Grocery shopping and preparing for football parties should never be a stressful experience – they should be fun, right? Since Walmart has jumped on board with free grocery pickup, I decided to take advantage of what they offer just to save the time it would take me to walk through the store and pick out everything I needed. I love how much easier this has made my life! Now I can focus on the fun part which is all the cooking an entertaining!
