I’ve come up with another great natural cleaning method! How to remove rust marks off stainless steel appliances using lemon juice and cream of tartar!
Remember when I got my nice new BBQ grill at the beginning of the summer? Well… the elements have finally gotten to it, and there are a few rust marks showing on the smooth stainless steel. After much deliberation in searching out another natural cleaning method, much like my tip on how to clean your glass top stove, I have finally found a magic recipe for safely taking these marks off.. 2 household ingredients you probably already have!
Who knew you could clean stainless steel using lemon juice and cream of tartar!?
Here’s what I started with – these sightly brown stains on the front of my new grill. Ick!!
But don’t worry, it’s really easy to remove rust off stainless steel!
I really should have bought a cover for it when I bought the grill, but I hated to cover it up! It’s such a pretty grill and it sits under the covered part of our patio. Unfortunately, it still can sometimes tarnished!
So I made a paste using the cream of tartar and lemon juice with an old toothbrush, until it had a good pasty consistency…
Then I applied it to the affected area, and gave it some good old fashioned elbow grease!
I made sure to scrub for about a minute or 2, and I would wipe up the paste that would run down, so I didn’t have a bigger mess to clean.
Then I used a paper towel to wipe away the paste, and TA-DA! Good as new again!
