Now that our generation is grown, it is hard not to look back on some of our favorite activities as children. Mushing PLAY-DOH through plastic presses and forming shapes with my fingers was one of them. Mixing primary colors were another – all in the name of making imaginary food creations like a 7-tier rainbow cake and pretend-pizzas with sprinkles. Being a kid was great back then, wasn’t it??
Not alot has changed in regard to playing with PLAY-DOH. I want my children to have the same experience, which is why I’m big on play-doh activity sets (shop the collection here). They allow for a few hours of quiet play time for JP, especially right after I get the baby down for a nap. There’s a whole new set available – the new PLAY-DOH Towns. We were lucky enough to have some sent to us to play with, which made for a fun afternoon of imaginative play!
PLAY-DOH has taught our imagination how to have a lot of fun, regardless how the weather outside is behaving. In fact, I often lost track of time while playing with it being engrossed in the make-believe world we made. I love that PLAY-DOH is one of those toys that have never changed even through the generations.
But, this year, the manufacturing company has a surprise for all parents and children alike. It is going to celebrate its 60th anniversary, releasing incredibly fun sets with this occasion. Watch out for the PLAY-DOH Town Firehouse, the Town Ice Cream Truck, or the Town Pet Store.
There are no limits to the imaginative world play-doh creates for your child. See what their imagination does when you let them build an entire PLAY-DOH village.
