How to make a Chocolate Chip Cookie Frozen Custard Cake with DREYER’S Frozen Custard

Today I have something special to share – It’s quite possibly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had in a long time… Ever try ice cream cake? Well combine that with chocolate chip cookies and whipped cream and you’ve got something unforgettable! I decided to make this cake out of DREYER’S Frozen Custard that I found at Albertsons the last time I was grocery shopping. Frozen custard has a creamier texture, so I chose Old fashioned vanilla and chocolate malt as my 2 ingredients in this frozen treat.

This is a great dessert to take to BBQ parties and any other potluck events over the summer because it’s always a crowdpleaser. I mean how can you go wrong with frozen custard and chocolate chip cookies??

I made some home made chocolate chip cookies with my favorite recipe and let them cool completely. I also got my frozen custard ready by letting it soften on the counter for about 15 minutes. Its harder to spread when it’s too firm. You can even use one of those disposable tin pans to simplify cleanup for large parties, I used a fancy baking dish of my own.

First I layered the bottom of the pan with cookies breaking them apart to fit closely together, then I topped it off with a layer of DREYER’S Frozen Custard in Old Fashioned Vanilla. I added another layer of cookies and then topped that with DREYER’S Frozen Custard in Chocolate Malt.

Just to make it even more special, I thought I’d top it off with a layer of home made whipped cream. Using a pint of whipping cream and 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar, beat it on high speed until you have nice, stiff peaks. Spread on top of the layered dessert and freeze. Let it set for at least 4-6 hours or overnight

Making it was half as much fun as eating it! What a beautiful mess 🙂
