We love our Netflix around here! For those of you that’s never heard of them before, Netflix is a service that lets you either rent DVDs or watch what they have available in their online library instantly. From action packed films to your kid’s favorite TV shows, they have a wide variety of titles to choose from.
I’ve been a longtime subscriber (ever since I got my iPad) because I love using the Netflix app sooo much. We even use our Nintendo Wii to pull up our Netflix account and watch movies on our big TV. It’s proven it’s use for me many times – like when I want to watch something that my hubby doesn’t.
I know that we’ll definitely be putting it to use this week since JP is home from school and is pretty much bored all day. It will be nice to prepare some Thanksgiving dishes while he watches his favorite cartoons at the kitchen table. Even though it’s not really your typical thanksgiving dish, I love serving my sweet & sticky spare ribs as an appetizer to the traditional spread.
No, this recipe is not for the lovers of dry rub. This is a recipe for a sticky, finger lickin mess that you will make again and again. A batch of these made up, and cut into individual ribs makes for a great game watching snack for Thanksgiving day. After all – Thanksgiving is an eating holiday, isin’t it?
- 1 cup applesauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 6 tbspns lemon juice
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. pepper
- ½ tsp. paprika
- ½ tsp. garlic salt
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- makes 16 ozs.
- Always calculate 1 pound of ribs per personFor extra tenderness, marinate them in the sauce overnight, but be sure to save some of the sauce to brush the ribs when cooking on the grill.
So while my little darling entertains himself, I’m going to prepare some of these yummy ribs for the game watching festivities after Thanksgiving lunch. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into these!!
