Self feeding GERBER® Snacks is SO important in a child’s early development. GERBER® Snacks like Banana Puffs and yogurt melts was one our family’s favorite baby snacks. They are easy to pack into containers making it easy to let baby self feed when you’re on the go. Did you know that little ones aged 8-24 months get about 25-30% of their daily calories from snacks alone? That’s huge!! Better make baby’s snacks nutritious, tasty and most importantly easy for a baby to self feed with. I’m a firm believer in teaching your child early to have a sense of independence because self feeding allows them some control that they typically don’t have at this stage in their life. Baby doesn’t always get alot of choices, but atleast she can choose which of the yummy GERBER® Snacks she likes best! We stopped by our local Kroger with our coupon download to stock up on some goodies.
When you go to the store you’ll notice GERBER® Snacks have given their product packaging a new look with the all-blue design.
Self feed is not the only good things about GERBER® Snacks…
What I love most about GERBER® Snacks is that once baby starts to chew on it (like the yogurt melts) they just sort of dissolve somewhere between your baby’s sticky fingers and their mouth. Same with the Lil’ Crunchies and Puffs. Call me a nervous mother, but I always liked that it would seem unlikely for them to choke on something that melts in your mouth so quickly. It really helps ease my nerves when I’m letting her do her own thing!
Because GERBER® Snacks are so rich in nutrition, it’s always one of my first choices when needing a snack. Astonishingly, 90% of 2 and 3 year olds fall short on MyPlate recommendations for whole grains! Babies and toddlers are little people too – they get hangry without snacks to get them trough till meal times!
My sweet little diva is always up to self feed herself a snack and GERBER® is still one of her favorites. I gave her a medley of Banana flavored Puffs, Berry Yogurt melts and Lil’ Crunchies Vanilla Maple. Allowing her to self feed a snack gives her a sense of healthy snacking habits.
