Since the beginning of the school year, our little family has had some health struggles. The worst part of kids starting school again is the dreaded bugs that get passed along to the whole family. Slowly we have finally come to the point where we have shaken it off and I am glad to know that they are in the clear now. While I’m not one to publicly complain about the state of my health online, I’ve still been secretly trying to recover from one of the worst sinus infections I’ve ever had. I’m not quite 100% yet, but I’m desperate to get better in time for the holiday season that’s coming up at the end of next month.

Being down for that long can definitely take a toll on how you feel & look. Oh my poor chapped nose! When you use anything other than soft tissue paper to blow your nose – like what’s easy and accessible, ie: paper towels and toilet paper, you get a big honking, red & chapped nose that hurts. Alot. Don’t ask me how I know this – all I do know, is that my poor nose needs a much needed hug now!

So I thought in honor of dealing with all this, I thought it would be best to have a basket laying around the house chock full of goodies to help one feel better in times like this. I visited my local Kroger with a laundry list of goodies to buy for the next time illness arrives on our doorstep:

#1 Kleenex Anti-Viral
One of the most important products for congestion, sneezes and snotty noses! Whenever I find myself in a situation where I need to blow my nose constantly, I try to use good tissue paper like Kleenex Anti-Viral. I love it because Kleenex Anti-viral kills 99.9% of cold and flu viruses in the tissue!

#2 Halls
Halls Honey-Lemon cough drops are an old tried and true remedy for a scratchy throat!

#3 Dial Complete Foaming Hand Wash
A great way to eliminate germs and bacteria is to wash your hands as often as possible. I always wash after nose-blowing, sneezing and especially before consuming or making my kids meals. Dial Complete is America’s #1 soap and kills 99.9% of germs so they don’t spread to other family members and keep the misery going.

#4 Theraflu Daytime Severe Cold & Cough
When you’re not feeling well, any kind of hot drink usually calms and soothes the senses – but Theraflu is packed with the right set of ingredients to help you back on track and feeling like yourself again.

#5 TYLENOL® Cold + Flu Severe
My #1 go-to for germ season relief. Being ill comes with all sorts of aches and pains and TYLENOL® Cold + Flu Severe is just the right amount of medication to keep me going without knocking me out.

#6 Breathe Right Extra strips
These are my personal favorite – I’m told by those close to me that I snore.. loudly. When I’m congested it’s far worse! My husband was kind enough to prove it to me the last time he found me peacefully asleep on the sofa. I’ll spare you the video, but these help keep the airways open while your sleep.

So between my purchases of TYLENOL® to feel better, Breathe right strips for sleeping, Dial to wash away germs, Kleenex with anti bacterial to kill germs, Lemon Honey Halls to soothe a scratchy throat and Theraflu to help soothe I think I have a lovely combination of items to battle any more illnesses that come our way! Kroger has savings on these products. What soothes you when you are feeling ill? I’d love to hear what your favorites are!
