Chloraseptic throat spray is one of my survival items for cold and flu season #AD #ChlorasepticRelief

I’ve been MIA for some time now and cold and flu season are to blame on that one. It never fails that the school year provides our family with plenty of sickness to go around! JP brought home what I thought was a minor head cold and it somehow morphed into an ugly ear infection and has passed it on to everyone in the house. This was us the other night – 12:30 am and poor JP was having horrible ear pain and couldn’t sleep. My poor sweet Melody was sick too and only wanted me holding her and yes, I too was sick.

When you’re a mom, you don’t get to be sick even when all we want to do is crawl under a rock. That being said, I have my own little sickness survival kit that helps me stay one step ahead of my kids. Who’s going to take care of them if I can’t?

For me, every cold starts out with a tingly, sore throat so that’s where I start with OTC medication – Chloraseptic® Spray in Cherry. It’s fast-acting and really helps take the edge off the sore throat that comes with the start of a cold. It’s got a new improved taste, a better spray nozzle and is sugar free!

My cold and flu survival kit has many goodies within – between Chloraseptic® spray, a box of tissues, vitamins, water, prescription medication and chapstick. I don’t cough alot, but I hear the Chloraseptic® lozenges have a soothing liquid center that relieves pain and cools nasal passages. That is just the basics – don’t forget the fleece robe, fuzzy pajamas & slippers to help keep warm. Sometimes if I feel up to it, I cook up my chicken soup recipe – I sure hate being sick, but I know how to do it up when I am!

So today JP went back to school after a 2-day break at home. On the drive over there, I gave him a stern talking-to about the importance of hand washing and use hand sanitizer as much as possible. I know they offer it in the classrooms and have dispensers all over the place. I’ve also warned him about covering his mouth when coughing and sneezing and most importantly, be careful being around friends who have the cough and sniffles so he doesn’t catch their germs!

Chloraseptic® is also helping to keep you ahead of the flu this season with their online Cold + Flu tracker. Check for outbreaks and symptoms in your area by using your zip code. Get updates by following them on Facebook & Twitter!
