Halloween is one of my favorite times of year and I love to celebrate it by creating fun treats with my kids. I always try to do fun things because when I was growing up, my mom would always make a huge deal out of Halloween and we loved it! I don’t know if it was the dressing up or the candy, but each year I would be just as excited for Halloween as I would for Christmas day to arrive.
Last week while shopping at Walmart, I broke down and decided to finally buy some Halloween candy. I try not to buy it too early in advance because it ends up getting eaten before Halloween night and then I have to go buy more… That’s what happened last year, so I did not want that happening again this year!
Walmart had some great deals on a few packages and I chose the one with the monster and the ghost simply because they contained all of my favorite goodies AND were an incredible value that I could not say no!
If you’re not going to give out the reeses peanut butter cups to trick or treaters, These tiny little cups make great witch brooms on a platter. All you need is some pretzel sticks – simply press one into the center of each and ta-da! instant platter of fun Halloween treats.
Its nice as a Halloween centerpiece, especially if you’re having a party. Also – pretzels and reeses peanut butter cups taste great together!!
My other favorite was the gummy eyeballs I bought in the baking section when I got these candies. I thought they would make fun ‘spooky’ food decorations on just about anything for Halloween and they worked out perfectly on top of the tiny Reeses cups.
So what’s your favorite part of Halloween? The baking? Crafting? Costumes? Candy? I’d love to know!
Are you going to make treat bags? If so here’s a printable bag tag I created just for you! Enjoy!!
