As everyone well knows by now, I finally had the baby and we are both doing well. We’ve come a long way from where we were a few weeks ago when I was pregnant – pure misery just doesn’t quite describe how I was feeling at the time. Pregnancy was rough on me the first time around, but this second time nearly killed me! That being said, I think our family is complete and I’m done making babies for this lifetime.
My difficult pregnancy had alot to do with the state of my health throughout my 3rd trimester. Between anemia and hypertension my doctor put me on bed rest the week before I delivered. It would have been plenty easy to deal with if I didn’t already have a little boy to take care of, so I depended heavily on my husband to step in and help. He was allowed some time off work and transformed into Mr.mom with ease.
Between taking care of me, doing groceries, picking up JP from school, laundry, cleaning, etc… He began to learn what my day to day life is like and I *think* he grew an appreciation for everything I do when I am well. I think I can speak for most women out there that they’d love to have their husband learn this lesson first hand!
I know its not an easy job because I do it day in and day out and there’s no breaks, no vacations and no pay.. but it’s a labor of love and he did it without complaint. He tried so hard to make my last week of pregnancy as comfortable as possible, and I knew that once I got back on my feet that I would do something special for him… Lobsterfest is going on at Red Lobster right now, and I thought nothing would be better than to treat him to a seafood meal.
4 weeks later, we loaded up both kids and headed to our local Red Lobster to indulge in all the yummy foods on their menu. JP was positively thrilled to have his picture taken while he played with the crayons and kids menu!
And baby Melody was perfectly content snuggled into her carseat as she sat next to me in the booth. I got off really lucky and she slept just like this the ENTIRE time we were there!
And Kevin couldn’t decide what he wanted to eat with all the delicious choices on the Lobsterfest menu… He spent a good solid 10 minutes scanning the menu to finally be sure of what he wanted.
There’s a certain few dishes on the Lobsterfest menu that are only available during lobsterfest, like the Lobster Lover’s Dream®, The Dueling Lobster Tails and the Rock Island Stuffed Tilapia. Each of them uniquely different from the other and designed to get your tastebuds in a twist. Both the Lobster Lover’s Dream® and the Dueling Lobster Tails sounded particularly good to me. The Lobster Lover’s Dream® is described as a succulent rock lobster tail with sweet split Maine lobster tail, roasted and served with lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo. The Dueling Lobster Tails is two Maine lobster tails, one roasted and topped with tender shrimp in a creamy garlic sauce, the other golden-baked with crab-and-seafood stuffing.
Who could decide??
One of my favorite things about red lobster is the incredible cheesy, garlic biscuits they bring out before you order.. Soo good!! Red Lobster is the perfect for celebrating with the family… What will you celebrate this Lobsterfest?
