Holiday baking is the highlight of the Christmas season for me. It really gives me a good excuse to start making all those recipes that I put off for so long! Often times, I don’t even keep these for me – I like to package them up and give as gifts to family and friends. Because of that, I try to make things that are both pretty and package well. I’ve done enough cookies this past week, so I decided to go with something that screams Christmas – White Chocolate Peppermint Fudge. I got this brilliant idea when I was at Target and found the M&M’s on an end cap, along with the holiday Glad containers to store them in.
White chocolate peppermint M&M are exclusively available at Target, so be sure to look for them there! It’s really simple to make – All you need is:
- 3 cups of white chocolate chips
- 2 tbspn of butter
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 package of white chocolate instant pudding mix
- 1 jar of marshmallow creme
- 1 tsp of peppermint extract
- 1 bag of white chocolate peppermint M&M’s
It’s best to start by putting the entire bag of M&M’s in a large freezer bag – make sure all the air is out. With a meat tenderizer, crush them up! Or, you can also do this step in a food processor if you wish. Combine the white chocolate chips, butter and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan and melt it on medium-low heat. Once it’s all smooth and fully melted, add in the white chocolate pudding mix and marshmallow creme. Finish with a tsp of peppermint extract, and immediately pour into a parchment paper lined pan. I used my 8×8 brownie pan, and it worked perfectly! While the white chocolate is still warm in the pan, cover the entire surface with the crushed M&M’s. Chill in the fridge overnight, or pop it in the freezer. Cut it into squares and store it in the cute holiday GLAD containers!
The glad packaging even offered an easy to make recipe that’s great fun to do with the kids. With some chocolate cake mix and some M&M holiday baking minis I create these yummy little bits. The bonus? They fit perfectly in the Glad container!
So what have you been baking this holiday season?? I’d love to hear about it!
