This post brought to you by Truvia® Natural Sweetener for One2One Network. All opinions are 100% mine.
In our house, we love our coffee but sadly my hubby is on a fast pace to becoming a diabetic, we have to be careful how much sugar we ingest around here. No worries tho – we have switched to a brand that will not only take care of our family’s needs, but also a brand that helps take care of others as well.
One of the reasons I love using a natural sweetener like Truvia® is because of all the aid they bring to the people of Bolivia. Did you know that 40% of their population cannot afford adequate food for a healthy life? 68% live in rural areas, and 65% of those cannot afford the minimum caloric intake, and nearly all of them have micronutrient deficiencies.
Truvia® truly cares…
Truvia® has made some contributions to help the poor communities of Bolivia so that hungry, malnourished children can be a thing of the past. It’s a work in progress, but it’s gotta start somewhere, right? Truvia® has generously given nearly 1 million dollars in contributions to help develop sustainable communities in Bolivia, a region of critical need with a high rate of malnutrition. Since launching the “Sharing a Sweet Future” Campaign back in October 2012, the main goal was to help reduce childhood hunger in Bolivia and improve communities through better nutrition, safety and education.
In the first 2 years of its partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, The Truvia® brand has donated 97 metric tons of fortified vegetable oil to help cook 2 school meals per day.
Just look at those sweet faces! They are nearly at 50K in fed children this past September 2014 – exceeding their goal of 40k.
Additionally, Truvia® has worked with families to help them learn how to operate cleaner stoves so that they may use less fuel, make less smoke and minimize environmental destruction which goes towards everyone’s benefit.
I’m so proud to use a brand that cares this much about such a small, far away place!
