When I’m craving something sweet, there’s nothing that hits the spot better than something made from decadent chocolate. Lately, I’ve had a bit of a thing for pudding, so I decided to try making ‘Double Chocolate Pudding” using TruMoo Chocolate Milk. It’s so easy to do, and I’m so thrilled I got the idea to make something with it before my son and husband got to it!

There’s alot of good reasons to love TruMoo, the first one being that it does not contain any high fructose corn syrup. Made of lowfat milk from trusted dairy sources that does not contain any artificial growth hormones and no HFCS either, yet full of the chocolatey flavor that kids love.

Now on with that pudding.. Here’s how it’s made:

  • 3 cups of TruMoo Chocolate Milk
  • 2 tablespoons of corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • mini chocolate chips

Step 1 

In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cornstarch & cocoa, mix it so there’s no lumps.

Step 2

Add 3 cups of TruMoo Chocolate milk to a pot and mix in the sugar/cornstarch/cocoa mix. Bring to a gentle boil until it thickens. Lower the heat to low.

Step 3

Beat the egg yolks, and scoop out about 1 cup of the hot milk mixture. Let it cool for a minute before you pour it into the egg yolks or they will scramble and you will have bits of scrambled eggs in your pudding.

Step 4

Once you add the milk to the eggs, return all of it to the pot and continue to cook it on medium high until it thickens more – about 3 minutes.

Step 5

Pull it off the heat, and let it cool. Now is a good time to pour the pudding into serving cups and chill. I always put a piece of plastic wrap on the surface so it doesn’t get that gross skin on top!

Makes a beautiful mess, but it was soooo worth it!

They have a chocolate marshmallow variety that I have been keeping my eye out for, but it hasn’t made it to my area. I would love to use that one for some rocky road milk shakes.
