So since I’ve been preparing like a little Christmas elf around here, I have been stocking up on those stocking ‘fillers’ that always add up and cost soo much at this time of year. Putting together a Christmas stocking can be fun, but the cost of purchasing so many little things can add up pretty quick. Using mint gum as a stocking stuffer is a great way to keep costs down when putting one together!
Since I have a few of these stockings to stuff, I thought I better take advantage of the coupon I came across while shopping at Walmart one afternoon. It was nice to have to opportunity to try it because the demo attendant was handing out samples and coupons to all the people passing by.
Later that day, after I had a few spare wrappers I decided to make a christmas craft with JP so he could take it to school for share time. ‘Share time’ has become a huge deal around here lately, and it’s basically his pre-school’s version of show and tell. I’m thrilled to see his excitement when he decides on what the object of the day is for taking to school.
I started with a styrofoam cone, and we wrapped it with some green construction paper so he could decorate his tree. While he used sticky tape to hold it together, I cut come silver circles from my old wrappers. I dug out some sticky tabs I used to use for card making to put on the back of each cut circle, just because it was less messier than glue. Plus JP doesn’t know when to stop squeezing the glue bottle – it never ends well!
We also had some self-adhesive glittery red foam sheets, and I cut some of those out to add some color. he had so much fun sticking them on!
Everybody can use some breath-freshning mint gum at times… It’s especially important for me with my raging coffee addiction!
