One challenge I face with regard to feeding JP is that he likes to drink more than he likes to eat. Often times I can’t give him anything to drink when I give him a meal, because he will load up on the drink first and the food gets forgotten. Because of this, I am always looking for creative ways to get vitamins and minerals into him – Silk Fruit and Protein is one of them. I feel really good about giving him a drink that is packed with protein, vitamins & minerals. Not only is this highly nutritional, but is highly delicious as well – especially if you’re a berry lover, like us! I picked some up recently while I was out shopping – you can view the whole experience on google+ here.
So when we got home with it, I decided to let JP have a little bit with his lunch. Sometimes blogging can have it’s difficult moments – allow me to illustrate…
Me: (Staging a blog photo)
JP: *Grabs the carton* “Juice, Mommy!”
Me: No, no JP… Please don’t touch it yet, Mommy needs to take a picture first…

I set my camera down, re-arrange the moved carton, tell JP not to touch again and hope that he listens this time. I pull my camera back up to my eye, zoom & re-focus to get the right shot, and then…
*sigh*

Sometimes, there are things that just aren’t meant to be! Obviously he could not wait to get his hands on the Silk Fruit & Protein, so I poured him a big sippy cupful to see how he likes it.

Now he’s a happy camper! My backup plan was to use the Silk Fruit and Protein as a base for a fruit smoothie, just incase he didn’t like it on it’s own. I picked up some yogurt and frozen blueberries while I was at the store, just to try it anyway, and it turned out pretty good too!

Here’s the secret recipe to a delicious fruit smoothie in seconds. Just eyeball the ingredients into a blender… Vanilla yogurt + Silk (your favorite flavor) + frozen fruit + blender = delicious smoothie! Visit Silk on Facebook or Follow them on Twitter!

Haha, don’t you love it when they cooperate? However, it did make for cute pictures.
This looks like a great recipe for a picky eater!
My kids now ask if I want a photo before they dig in–lol. Takes a bit of training, but he’ll get there. Glad to hear your picky eater liked this drink. Going to have to see if I can get my picky eater to try it.
