So to fill our winter survival kits,  JP and I headed off to our local Wal Mart.

Our first stop was down the travel toiletries aisle to see what goodies we could find…

…We found some cute kid-sized travel toothbrushes, with some other necessities for the box – to keep the germs at bay!

1 small bottle of shampoo
1 hand sanitizer
1 package of wet wipes

We walked, and scanned as we looked at everything. Totally off track, I couldn’t help but notice these cute bright margarita glasses. For only .97 cents, I Love!

…Because you can’t go wrong for a .78 cent package of crayons!!

JP was quick to insist that we throw in a McQueen spiral notepad to go with the crayons, but I was quick to suggest a mickey mouse coloring book instead!

And I threw in a can of play doh – because where’s the fun in a box of bare necessities?

…And some batteries for ‘just incase’ – Along with some other ‘never know’ type of things…

6  large night time diapers

1 flashlight

1 package of bandaids

So once we got all our loot home, the fun was building our boxes and making them special.

Our local church became the recipient of these wonderful loot boxes. It would be curious to know who’s lives these care packages have touched, even if its in a small way. We left them with the church director, and even though we did not meet the exact recipients – it’s still fun to imagine the cries of excitement from a child opening this box.

Makes me feel kinda warm and fuzzy!
